In this episode of the Vegetable Gardening show, Mike chats with youth health activist Haile Thomas on how to get kids to eat healthier, understand nutrition and make better food choices.
Haile will tell us her journey from helping her dad battle type II diabetes up through the foundation of her Healthy Active Positive Purposeful Youth Organization, where she travels the country teaching thousands of kids in under served communities to eat healthier and make better nutritional choices.
She tell us how she shows kids how to make eating healthier more fun and through her culinary expertise, better tasting. Haile has a series of techniques that she uses to get kids to "buy in" to making better food choices, and she is going to share them with us in this episode.

Haile is a youth health activist, motivational speaker, and teen vegan chef.
She is the founder and executive director of the Healthy Active Positive Purposeful Youth Organization, HAPPY for short, which was established in 2012, which addresses the need for free and/or low cost nutrition and culinary education for young people in under served/at-risk communities.
Haile is one of the first young chefs featured on season one of Rachael vs. Guy Kids-Cook-Off, and also on Cupcake Wars Kids both airing on the Food Network.
You have seen Haile on the Today Show, Dr. Oz, Home and Family Show, and The Rachael Ray Show, as well as highlighted in O Magazine, Teen Vogue, and YES Magazine. She is also the first teen featured on the Cover of Experience Life Magazine in the October 2016 issue.
