1]

Are your seeds certified organic?

Our seeds are open pollinated, heirloom varieties. However, they are not certified organic.

2]

Are your seeds Non-GMO?

The seeds we send out in the club are non-gmo. We also mark our packets with a non GMO symbol showing as such.

We do not modify our seeds, nor do we procure seeds from suppliers that engage in the sales of GMO seeds, nor do we have any plans in the future of doing either.

The growers we procure our seeds from are also signers of the Safe Seed Pledge.

3]

After I plant seeds from the Seeds of the Month Club, can I save the seeds from those fruits, herbs and veggies to replant in subsequent seasons?

Yes. You can save the seeds from the produce grown and use them in subsequent seasons.

5]

Where do you get your seeds from?

We procure our seeds from a few places in the United States, however, the bulk of our seeds are derived from specific grower-farmers located in the Willamette Valley of Oregon.

6]

Do you buy your seeds from Monsanto or Seminis?

No. The seeds we send out in the Seeds of the Month Club are not purchased from Monsanto or Seminis .

7]

Do you vary the seeds depending on the zone?

Yes. The seeds you will receive are based on your growing zone that is noted at http://planthardiness.ars.usda.gov/PHZMWeb/.

8]

Do I get to choose the seeds I will receive each month?

In short the answer is no. The seeds we send are based on two factors, what we can procure in bulk from the farms that we buy from, and the growing zone in which you live.

Along with receiving seeds every month, members also get 25% off anything in our online store and free shipping.

9]

How many seeds come in each pack?

Because seeds vary in size, shape and weight, seed packets are filled based on the weight of the seed not a number count.

10]

Is the Seeds of the Month Club available to those that live outside of the United States?

Yes. As of the writing of this FAQ, we have members in over 17 countries around the world.

11]

I live at an elevation of 8500 feet above sea level. Will your seeds grow here?

We do not take elevations into account when we mail out seeds. Therefore we can not guarantee that they will grow.

We only go by the zone map as noted by the USDA. We recommend that you check a local co-op in your area for a list of varieties that will grow at that elevation.

12]

When can I expect to receive my first mailing of seeds?

Your first shipment is sent out within 48 hours of you ordering. We ship via the United States Postal Service. The length of delivery time will be based on your location. You can expect your first shipment to arrive within 7 to 10 business days from the date you place your order.

13]

How often do you repeat the same varieties of seeds?

On occasion we do have some repetition, however that usually occurs every couple of years with the more popular varieties.

14]

When can I expect my monthly seeds to arrive?

Your first 8 packs of seeds are mailed right away. Then each month you will receive 4 packs of seeds by the last Friday of each month for the month in which they are due.

15]

There is a month listed on the right top corner of the seed packets that I am receiving, what does that mean?

On your first 8 packs of seeds that you will receive, that month abbreviation is irrelevant. However, during your normal 4 pack monthly delivery, that abbreviation stands for the month for which those seeds were mailed for. The abbreviation has nothing to do with when you start or plant the seeds. It is a way to keep your seed packets organized as you receive them.

16]

Do these seeds have a shelf life, or a "plant by" date?

Seeds do not expire like milk. What happens is their germination rates start to decline over time. Most seeds germination rates will start to decline in 2 to 5 years.

That means it will take longer for the seeds to germinate. When you store your seeds properly, in a cool, dry location, you will get great germination rates for many years.
