#329: Binge Eating - Tips to Avoid Those Hunger Attacks (Dr Glenn Livingston) In this episode of the Vegetable Gardening show, Mike chats with expert psychologist Dr. Glenn Livingston about binge eating. Dr. Livingston had to overcome binge eating in his own life, and he comes on the program to share his journey, the things he learned along the way about binge eating, and how you can really overcome binge eating with a few tips and tricks.

Binge eating is a pattern of disordered eating which consists of episodes of uncontrollable eating. It is sometimes a symptom of binge eating disorder or compulsive overeating disorder. During such binges, a person rapidly consumes an excessive quantity of food.

Dr. Livingston is going to share his journey from binge eating to losing 60 pounds, how your character and will power play roles in binge eating, and the psychology behind binge eating.

From there he will tell us how you can replace binge eating snacks with healthy fruits & vegetables grown in your garden, and some tips to make that transition easier.

About this episode's guest on the Vegetable Gardening Show, Dr. Glenn Livingston

#329: Binge Eating - Tips to Avoid Those Hunger Attacks (Dr Glenn Livingston) Dr. Glenn Livingston, Ph.D. is a veteran psychologist and was the long time CEO of a multi-million dollar consulting firm which has serviced several Fortune 500 clients in the food industry. You may have seen his (or his company's) previous work, theories, and research in major periodicals like The New York Times, The Los Angeles Times, The Chicago Sun Times, The Indiana Star Ledger, The NY Daily News, American Demographics, or any of the other major media outlets you see on this page. You may also have heard him on ABC, WGN, and/or CBS radio, or UPN TV.

Disillusioned by what traditional psychology had to offer overweight and/or food obsessed individuals, Dr. Livingston spent several decades researching the nature of bingeing and overeating via work with his own patients AND a self-funded research program with more than 40,000 participants. Most important, however, was his own personal journey out of obesity and food prison to a normal, healthy weight and a much more lighthearted relationship with food.
